In the middle of a global pandemic, the City of Reynoldsburg, Ohio (pop. 36,000), a suburb of Columbus, held course and advanced a critical part of its future Monday night (March 23) by adopting its new zoning code.
The zoning code rewrite effort began in February 2019, and was led by Calfee Zoning with graphics and mapping support from the Columbus office of OHM Advisors. The code completely overhauls the city’s piecemeal-updated, 50-year-old zoning code and includes a new set of districts and zones that respect existing, and reflect desired, development patterns and implements the city’s 2018 comprehensive plan. Calfee Zoning Lead Principal Sean Suder led the diagnostic and calibration phases of the project, and Senior Consultant Donnie Warner led the codification and adoption phases of the project. Aaron Domini and Kim Littleton led the effort for OHM Advisors. This project was completed within the approved schedule and budget.
